What is a Christian?
How does a person become a Christian?
Christians
believe Jesus is the Son of God:
Ø “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”; “Kiss the Son” (Psalm
2:7,12; cf. Acts 13:33; Hebrews 1:5; 5:5).
Ø Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16).
The
Qur’an says belief that Jesus is the Son of God is perverse and accursed
(Qur’an 5:17; 9:30; 10:68; 19:88-92). The Qur’an denies both the Father
and the Son. The Apostle John says
such a denial is of the antichrist, “Who is the liar but the one who denies
that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the
Father and the Son” (1 John 2:22).
Therefore,
how could Pope John Paul II show reverence for the Qur’an by bowing to and
kissing it?

What receives greater emphasis in your Saturday worship: The
old work of God celebrated by Old Testament Jews on the Sabbath or the new
work of God in Jesus Christ?
Where in Holy Scripture is the command changing the
purpose of the fourth commandment from a remembrance
of God's first creation (Ex.20:11) to the new creation in Christ? Where is the command changing the
purpose of the fourth commandment from a remembrance
of redemption from Egypt (Deut.5:15) to a remembrance
of Christ's redemptive work?
For the Seventh Day Adventist: Ellen White had a vision where in she claimed
to see the “pope had changed it from the seventh day to the first day of the
week” (Early Writings of Ellen G. White, 33). Which Pope changed the sabbath
to Sunday? When did he change the day? If you can’t answer these questions
then isn’t Ellen White a false prophet?

Why didn't Jesus speak in tongues when
He was baptized in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:13-17)? What are the first words Matthew
records coming from the mouth of the Lord Jesus after He was baptized in the
Spirit?

Is there a contradiction between living a life in the Spirit
and living a life in accord with the Law of God (see Matthew 3-5)?
How are Israel and the church related to the New Covenant?
Jeremiah 31:31-34 (see Hebrews 8:8-13 and 10:15-18)
Behold, days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them
by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they
broke, although I was a husband to them, declares the LORD.
But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after
those days, declares the LORD, I will put My law within them and on their
heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother,
saying, Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to
the greatest of them, declares the LORD, for I will forgive their iniquity,
and their sin I will remember no more.
Where did the concept of a land belonging to God's people
originate: with Abraham or with Adam and Eve? How does Jesus apply the
promise of land to His followers? (Matthew 5:5 with Psalm 37:11)
Does Paul
teach a different message than what Jesus taught during His earthly
ministry?

Are there any fundamentals of Christianity that separate the
Christian faith from other faiths?
Do you or your pastor believe in the deity of Jesus Christ,
His Virgin Birth and bodily resurrection? If not, then why do you (or your
church) call yourself Christian?
If Jesus’ death on the cross was not substitutionary but
primarily an example of selfless love, then was Jesus’ distress and grief in
Gethsemane an example of how Christians should face death?

Whose
glory did the Apostle John say that Isaiah saw?
John 12:37-41 (see Isaiah 6)
But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not
believing in Him.
This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: Lord, who
has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again,
He has blinded their eyes and He hardened their heart, so that they would not
see with their eyes and perceive with their heart, and be converted and I
heal them.
These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke of Him.

"If
a faith will not bear to be investigated; if its preachers and professors are
afraid to have it examined; their foundation must be very weak."
— Journal of Discourses

Does Joseph Smith meet the
Scriptural qualifications for a true prophet (see Deuteronomy 13:1-10; 18:14-22; Isaiah 8:20)? Consider the following:
The Book of Mormon describes the rise and development of two great
civilizations. Yet, leading archaeological researchers have repudiated the
claims of the Book of Mormon as to the existence of these civilizations and
have adduced considerable evidence to show the impossibility of the accounts
given in the Book of Mormon. Thomas Stuart Ferguson founded the Department of
Archaeology (later renamed Anthropology) at BYU for the purpose of
discovering proofs of the Book of Mormon. After twenty-five years of archaeological
research, he called the geography of the Book of Mormon “fictional.” Contrast
this with the Bible where archaeology has provided thousands of discoveries
confirming biblical references.
Does Joseph Smith meet the
Scriptural qualifications for a bishop when the Apostle Paul wrote,
1 Timothy 3:2,6,7
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife,
vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 6 Not
a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of
the devil.7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without;
lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. (KJV)
“Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over!
Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on top at
last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that
has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A
large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor
Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The
followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran
away from me yet...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go.”
(History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 408, 409).

Is the book of Acts giving us a formula
for baptism or does the Lord Jesus give the formula in Matthew 28:18-20? Is it possible that the baptismal
examples in Acts are descriptive and not prescriptive and that the formula of
baptism in Matthew 28:19 is prescriptive and not descriptive?
If the book of Acts gives the formula
for baptism, then why does it differ (Acts 2:38; 8:16; 10:48; 19:5)?
